Hi,
Thanks to all the Scouts that came on the County Cooking Competition event last weekend (Saturday 2nd April). Both teams representing the 14th did really well and made some delicious meals.
Here’s a link to a page on photobox where I’ve posted the pictures I took. [They look a bit grainy in slideshow maybe because I've uploaded them full-res files but they should print out OK]. If your parents have a photobox account you should be able to order prints of the ones you want.

Now we know how good you Scouts are at cooking hopefully you’ll do the meals on the next camp
Regards,
Duncan
Explorers,
What activities would like to see in the summer term programme?
Let us know by adding comments to this post.
A page showing the remaining 2010 Spring term programme has been published so you know whats coming up. See top right.
See:
http://www.survivalrivals.org/competition/about
Briefly:
This competition encourages students aged 11-19 to communicate the science behind the Survival Rivals kits in a creative way. To enter you need to conduct the experiments, then make films or take photographs of your results, showing how you have brought science to life.
How to enter
- Carry out Survival Rivals experiments. If you haven’t got a kit yet don’t worry – see the Order page for details of how to order or replenish kits or how to carry out the experiments without them (no purchase is necessary to take part in the competition)
- In groups of up to four, produce film or photography to communicate the science behind the kits – see the Enter section for details of eligible formats
- Submit films or photographs before deadline of 21st May 2010
Thought I’d add this to the top as a reminder…
CODE OF CONDUCT:
Currently, we trust that all posts will be positive and in the good spirit of Scouting. Therefore at the moment all Explorer Scouts have Author rights; thus posts will be added immediately without amendments. However, if we find any posts that have the slightest hint of anti-social content (bullying, abusive, offensive, excessively negative criticism) then the post will be amended/deleted. The first time we’ll probably give a warning and explain why we deemed the post to be over the line. The second time and for more serious incidents we will change your account to Contributor rights which means all post will have be approved by an Editor (Chris, Paul, Richard) or Admin (Guy, Duncan) before they are added to the blog. Welcome to the all new 14th Cambridge Scouts Blog.
Guy Snape has kindly producing this blog website for us. This blog malarky is new to me so I’m diving in and trying to learn on the go.
I’m hoping that this will give us a forum for our group to post comments and pictures of our activities and share ideas for future activities. If you can think of anything else we can use our blog for, why not add a blog and let us know.
Many thanks to Guy.
All the best,
Duncan
